Six months to a new horse...

We have owned Sonny for six months now and we are so proud of the transformation.
Our barn owner brought him in to use as a lesson horse with the intent on buying him, but her husband lost his job and they felt it best not to spend the money at the time.
He was to go back to his horse broker and we didn't have the heart to send him so we bought him.
What we got was a 12-15 year old appendix?, she thinks, with rain rot, worms, really bad hoofs, no energy ...
Well, he kind of picked my daughter and worked well with her ...
anyway, after regular worming, farrier care, good feed, supplements, lots of grooming...

The left is Sonny being used by a lesson horse with a student rider and the right is a picture of him with my daughter taken last month.

My daughter had taken a 2 week "summer camp" and I had taken pictures of every rider and horse team on the last "show" day. When she mentioned there had been a Sonny and she thought it might be him we looked at the pictures I had taken and it was. Thank God for the white markings or I probably wouldn't have recognized it for the same horse.

We will be taking him to a CMHA (Central Michigan Horse Association) show this weekend ... so send a prayer up for them so they compete at their best ... they have worked very hard!!!
