Well, I finally dug the horses out today. There was a layer of crunchy snow/loose ice on top of the regular snow, so we didn't really want to turn the horses out yet because it could hurt their cornets. But, they were going off of the deep end today... and fast! So while they ate breakfast I started digging. An hour later, they danced and jigged their way into the field.
They tried to run around... didn't work. They tried to roll... didn't work at first. Finally established a good, soft rolling spot. Everyone had a go, then they lined up at the gate waiting to be brought back in. Normally they love the snow! Not this time... too much and not soft and fluffy enough for these spoiled equines!
