Sunny Turns 5 and Ash Turns 16

On the first, my mare Sunny turned 5. We had a party with her "brother" and a friend including birthday hats and bran mash. Ash turned 16 on the 26th, so we had a combined party. I can't believe how old Sunny is already. She's acting more mature too (FINALLY!). I've always heard that 5's and 6's are the tough years as far as training goes- any input on that? And Ash is enjoying his retirement. I tried to start riding him again, hoping my mom could ride him in some shows this fall, but it's not going to work. The poor guy is too uncomforable to safely ride, so back in the field he goes.
