Sunset Trail Ride! [Picture heavy]

It was such a gorgeous evening (:
I was the one taking the pictures, you can occaisionally see my Perchon mare's ears. It was such a great ride! It got a little dusky on the trail for the last half, so all those photos turned out blurry, but I have some from the first half!











And my big, tired girl afterwards! She has hilarious sweat patterns, looks like a pale oreo.

OMG - they have on long sleeves? You must not get the heat we do. We are currently in a horrible heat/humidity period that has me wearing my cooling vest.
With those sweat patterns, are you sure your saddle fits correctly? I had to get rid of my saddle because the same issue with my perch. He was not sweating under the saddle. Oh, and she's a beautiful girl btw. I can't wait til I can ride again. You make me green with envy.

ZiggyzMom - It sure is hot here! The bugs and scratches aren't worth short sleeves, though! It was also starting to cool down for the night.
We ordered a saddle from Duett Saddlery (not sure if you've heard of them?). We did have a saddle fitter come out and she said the 36 gullet was perfect. However, the saddle has squished down quite a lot, I'm not sure if that would make it fit worse?

I thought I was lucky living where I do, with mountains, a lake and such... but wow- your lake is amazing and the trees are so tall. I love seeing nature from the back of a horse.

We are having heat index of 112 today and 115 tomorrow.. When did you have the fitter out? Maybe the horse's back has changed with more riding? You know they are always evolving.... mine just gaining or loosing weight per season. I have a treeless saddle for home riding, and most of mine love it for short rides... I don't like to use it for long rides because the direct pressure on the backbone. I have a Aussie for long rides, but due to me.. I may have to sell it and find something else... It has a horn, and now I'm on blood thinners... don't want a horn in the stomach ...

Wow, that's really hot out! I'd have trouble dealing with that.

The fitter was out just under a year ago, I'll probably call her out again to see what's up. Thank you for the help! (:
