Is there anything more in need of a cuddle than this Donkey?

Arthur was gelded today.

Here in the field



Innocently waiting for the vet:



And suffering the mother of all hangovers from the anaesthetic afterwards:


Get up, get going, seize the day. Enjoy the sunshine, the rain, cloudy days, snowstorms, and thunder. Getting on your horse is always worth the effort.

How appropriate that I see this as I'm considering getting a donkey and talking to the vet about castration. Such a learning curve! Lovely little boy you've got - keep posting pics, please

I almost got my camera out for pics of the operation itself as I found it absolutely fascinating. But then I contemplated that the vet might think that a bit weird, and I don't want to be known as the 'weird English lady who takes pictures of castrations' ....

He is recovering so well! My two boys boss him around so he has no choice other than to keep moving so his recovery has been really smooth and easy. I had to do nothing to help him. Which is handy as I have discovered that donkeys are not as easy to move as horses are ......
