Thoroughbred Yearling Updates!

So I felt the need to post pics of my little man today. He has come a long way in just the 3 months I have owned him. I am so proud at the progress he has made is such short time.
Here's a pic of him at 9 months when I brought him home and now at almost 13 months.

Wow, he looks fantastic! I wouldn't have even realized he was the same horse. If I may ask, what are you feeding him? I'm dealing with a TB yearling filly who was in a sorry state when I got her, and I'm currently playing with her feed. She's stunted and quite a bit older though, 18 months.

3 quarts (full scoop) of Manna pro complete horse with a little bit of Calf Manna. It can get a little expensive but really helps them bulk up. It also has a ton of vitamins and minerals that are essential for growth in young horses. I also recently added some T&A into his diet just until he bulks up a little more and until the grass starts growing back.

Also if your filly is not, try to turn out as much as possible. I have my little guy on 24/7 turn out on 20 acres. The constant movement throughout the day and night helps with development as well. And plus she'll be much happier:)

She's turned out 24/7 in an almost two acre pasture, by herself, but we don't have much grass. She grazes on what we have, but I doubt its of high quality. You're right, she loves being turned out instead of being in a run-in shed with a small turn out, and seems much more relaxed.

I looked into calf manna before. I might try it at some point. Right now I have Kenzie on 4 lbs Nutrena Mare and Foal, 5 lbs straight alfalfa pellets, we're working up to 2 lbs beet pulp, and 3/4 cup of DuMor UltraShine suppliment. She has free choice costal hay as well. She has a lot of making up to do though and was a good 150 lbs or more underweight when we got her, and very small for her age. She's 12.3hh at the wither now and weighs about 400 lbs according to a weight tape, and still needs at least 20 lbs... but she was 12.2hh and only about 275 lbs! O_O
