Thoughts on what breed(s) this rescue mare is and feeding advice

Rizzy was a walking skeleton when I rescued her. She's a 22 year old, 17.1hh Trakehner. I wish I could post pics of her here, but I can't. If you have facebook, feel free to request me. Wendy Johnson. You have a long road ahead of you, but sounds like you are on the right track! My girl was so skinny you could put your fingers between her ribs and they would sink lower than her ribs. Her hip points looked like they could tear through her skin at any second. Be prepared, that once she has the good groceries and feels better, she will most likely have a little more spunk than what she has now. With the temperament you describe, however, I think you've got yourself a wonderful girl.

I'd say with a little more meat on her bones she'd resemble QH...possibly TB

She is settling in very well, my BF is completely infatuated with her,lol, it's very cute. Deep down he's just a big softie. He wanted to name her Dixie because she is like a sweet southern belle....yeah it's that bad,lol. I did notice that she is camped under a bit, that's something we will have the vet check out. She didn't seem to be sore along her spine or in the hip area when I checked her, but I know that doesn't mean much.
