Tragic Moment turned Glorious

So as you all know April 28th, 2010 I adopted my baby Beau. He's 16.3 and he's a thoroughbred. When I moved him out of his last home he left there emaciated and later I found out the place wasn't giving grain at all!

It's been such a long road to recovery for him! And he sadly will NOT trust anyone else but, me! Poor Boy!

Well late last night a lost someone near and dear to me and when I went to the barn he was in his paddock muching on his hay and when I walked back he nickered at me and it looked as though he was smiling. Lol. I sat in the back of his paddock and he walked back and layed down and put his head in my lap ever so gently. So I have some updated pics of him. Not much but, only had my phone. The pictures look wierd cause he's fatter and more muscley in person. The vet said he doesn't even recognize him from the first time he saw him :) so that's the plus. He also had a small colic last mnth and the vet didn't wanna feed him cause they oiled him and sedated him. I would sneak him a jolly rancher those 2 days he wasn't allowed to have food although the vet said he was allowed to have snacks like a hay cube or a scoop of grain but, absolutely no more than that and I felt like crap. Grrr. Vet knows best. It was a sand colic and he said it was long term... so that means it was from the other place.. bleh...

Sorry for rambling. Anyway here he is today and the pics came out bad but, his topline is in and so is his hip bone.. the pics just came out like crap.. sorry for bad quality

1st pic was from today...
2nd pic was from his old place :( how skinny he was there :(
3rd pic was a day after his colic
4th pic is 3 wks after I moved him to his new place

Aw he is a beautiful horse. So glad that he found the right person to care for him, and take the time with him, and make him healthy again. I hope that you have loads of fun with him.

Your could write a children's book about how Beau comforted you when you were sad and how you both like to take naps together. Sounds perfectly magical. He looks very healthy and happy. Good on ya!
