Training The Rescues

For the past month we've started saddle training some of the rescue horses at my work. I've been lucky enough to be chosen to help out the trainer on the days I work. Right now I'm working with Amado and Harley. I have a few photos to share.

Amado

Checking out the saddle

He looks so good in a Western saddle ^^

Lunging

Me getting on, I'm the first person ever on him :)

Riding pics

This is Harley, I'll be riding her soon

The trainer and Mystic, she used to be untouchable!

Gina and her project, Angelina, she also used to be untouchable

My new buddy, Deuce

Giving Nick a bath. I've also been working with him on his cow kicking problem while leading

Smoky Joe hanging out on the carport

So we got a 2 year old filly back in January and we though she might have been a Thoroughbred until we put her out into a herd today. I find out she is defiantly gaited, maybe Saddlebred? Well she has a neurological disease and wobbles. The vet said the movement from being out in a big pasture should help some but theres no cure for her, poor girl.
Annie

Meeting the yearlings

Look at that gait! O_O

She has followers ^^

Brandy was being such a brat to her

Oh my. Leyla is such a dork. She was imitating Annie. She never ever hold her tail like that and when she trotted it was almost like Annie.

Oh and by the way. I'll be adopting Leyla after Christmas break!

They all look so good!

Agree with CloudsMystique though, Annie is just trotting in all of her photos, but I would agree that she looks more Saddlebred then Thoroughbred just from the animation of gait and head carriage.
