Two Days at the Barn- Photos

We had a four-day weekend, so on Friday I went out to the barn with my friend, Lily. We helped with a birthday party of nine-year-olds (they were SO cute!) Then we went up to the pasture (with my crappy point-and-shoot lol) and then free-lunged Cody and Wumplies.

^Flirt was stuck inside :(. She had scratches and it was really muddy.^

^Really blurry, but Thumper's on the left. He ALWAYS picks fights in the pasture, lol. He used to be the most dominant horse in his old herd. Once he tried to mount Titan, who is an 18hh Percheron! Thumper's 15.1, by the way . ^

^Nigel! My instructor bought him a couple months ago. The barn was selling him, and because he's so old, she didn't want him to have to adjust to a new location, especially with him missing an eye, so she bought him! I was amazed that she was able to, because she recently went back to college to get another degree and already owns a horse.^

Wow, you're a good photographer!!! So many of those look like professional shots you'd see in a magazine or something :)

Thanks! My dad has been teaching me about photography recently so it's kind of a hobby of mine :). I think that Nigel had a disease/infection in his eye, so they had to remove it.

Wow, beautiful horses and such great pictures. I love the action shots, very crisp. May I ask what camera you are using?

It's a Nikon D40. I'm in southern Wisconsin. I think he came to my barn last winter? It's possible that you know him- his old owner donated him as a lesson horse because she was going off to college (I THINK that's why...). And now I'm leasing him . lol completely random but I'm happy about that :).

Lots of pretty Horses, even if they are a little muddy, hehe.
