Anyway, they got Sally around two weeks ago, but these are the first pics I have of her (from today). Their other horse (I’m calling him Lil Man) was brought home today.
Sally’s the bay Percheron/x/Quarterhorse. She’s really not that big... only about 15.2 or 15.3 hands... but she’s thick. She’s five years old and is greenbroke... my friends traded their twenty year old Quarterhorse gelding for her.
Lil Man is the chestnut Quarterhorse gelding colt. He’s only about a year and a half old (we guesstimated between 15 and 20 months) and cost two hundred dollars. He was born at some breeding farm, but jumped the fence and was found by the people who my friends bought their other two horses from. Since no one ever came to get him, Lil Man stayed with the people and they priced him for sale. He’s not very big... only about 12.3-13.2 hands right now... but he’s built so well and he’s so adorable... he’s going to be stocky and really, really beautiful when he grows up. I don’t think he’ll be over 15.3 hands. We’re unsure of his bloodlines, though we’ve all agreed that he looks a lot like my friends old Quarterhorse gelding that they traded, and he was Doc Bar bred.
