Two new rescues, Off track Thoroughbred boys.

We got two very sweet boys in last week. They are both off track Thoroughbreds, half brothers. Spirit is 17hh and 7 years old - Zealous 16.2hh and 5 years old this spring. Once they are up to weight, fat and happy I will be re-training them for English, Dressage, possible Jumping. They are such sweethearts, well mannered and quiet, we just love them!

Spirit, First Day:

Zealous, First Day:

Five days later all cleaned up....

Boy do they eat! Hopefully they'll pick up weight quickly
They have excellent personality's & manners, Perfect gentlemen for the farrier and vet check.

They are both really cute. I am glad to see that they have such a good owner.
Some OTTB's can just be so sweet. Mine has the greatest personality and I was happy to find him. He was not nearly as skinny as your two, but he was thin. Its been only a few months and he is already improving a lot. He will hopefully be muscular and completely filled out before Summer.

Congrats! :)

Good for you. Feel so bad for those poor guys. I never cease to wonder how someone can let a pair of poor animals starve and be able to go to bed and sleep at night.
Good for you. I think you should have a pair of lovely horses in your hands once their training is on the go. Make sure to keep us posted, looking forwards to seeing how they progress:)

Awww they're adorable... once they've got the weight on them, they're gonna be stunners. Congrats on your new horses, they're so lucky to have a nice owner as yourself to help them get fat and happy!
