Just a thread to update anyone who may be interested in the recent goings on around my place :)

It's been a busy few weeks. We're 9 weeks out from our wedding so things are pretty hectic in that department.

A 26 year old mare who boards on our property went down with a nasty colic last week, at one stage she had a heart rate of 100bpm and was having violent convulsions. By a miracle she has managed to pull through and is now almost completely recovered from the incident, despite being a little tired. She has, however, been diagnosed with the beginning stages of liver failure so will need to be closely monitored. We will be collaborating with her owner to get a nice stable put up for her where she can spend her nights from now on.

My girl Romance is pretty miserable at the moment. She has managed to puncture her foot and damage her pedal bone (suspected fracture). She's sporting a bar shoe to stabilise the hoof and stop it from flexing and further damaging the pedal bone and on a course of antibiotics to control any infection that was introduced with the puncture. She's out of commission for several months, but given plenty of time should come good.

The other horses are all fat and healthy (some of them a little too fat!) Flirt has stopped growing 'up' for the time being and is instead growing 'out'. He's a seriously chunky monkey now.

And still a total goofball...

I'm itching to get him out and about to some more shows, but everything I want to take him to falls at rather an inconvenient time. There's 2 on the same day as my hen's, 1 that is 4 days before the wedding and 1 that is 2 days after!

Oh, and because I know I will be mobbed if I post without it......

I am itching to be rid of winter, but so NOT looking forward to summer. I am not a summer person. I'd be happy if we could just stay in perpetual spring :D

I'd like to stay in perpetual pre-fall. Temps are comfortable and the humidity's low.

I am NOT looking forward to winter, and it's just around the corner. I saw some hummingbirds yesterday morning. They were stopping off for a quick rest and a snack at my place, before heading to South America for the winter. Noooo!!!! :-x

My maximum comfortable temperature is probably somewhere between 25-28C. Summer is absolute torture with temps in the high 30s and even breeching 40 at times. BLECHHH!

And I don't even have riding to look forward to!

Took a couple of videos today, thought I would share.

First my girl Ro, believe it or not, this is HUGELY improved!

And then the terrible twosome themselves, Flirt and Hugo!
