Good for you for getting PMU's. Are they NAERIC registered?

I highly doubt these are actually PMU horses. Most of the stables that use mares for PMU production now produce high quality babies that sell for big dollars. They learned long ago that producing pedigree babies does not cost them more than producing nothing babies and they can make money from them.

There are still many places that pretend the mutt bred babies they are selling are PMU babies but they really are not. They just use that term to get people to pay for babies because of the bleeding heart issues associated with it.

What? No these are PMU babies, they came from a PMU farm that just closed down about 2 months ago.

Did you get them directly from the farm? Or thru some rescue type organization?
Most of the PMU farms were shut down/lost their contracts years ago. Those that remain breed nice horses and collect the urine. In other words, they are more of a breeding and training facility than a urine production facility.
Though some of the 'rescues' really want people to think that the mass production of urine is still going on and these grade horses still need adopting what is really happening is there are still farmers breeding these horses and supplying them to the 'rescue' so they can sell them to people for more than they could get for them with out the drama of the PMU tag associated with them.

I guess that's a no then ;) Dreamchaser is a barn in New River that rescues PMU horses. Also called Dunrovin Ranch. It's down the road from me, although I've never been there.

Not if you are one of the women who synthetic hormone replacement does not work for, it is not.
It is a good drug with a purpose. And honestly the mares are not harmed in any way so I miss why you hate it so much.

Really? How old are you?

If you're not a woman in her late 40s/early 50s going through a horrendously awful menopause, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Synthetic hormones don't work for everyone, and some women have to take Premarin.

The way it's collected now is a far cry from the way it used to be. The mares and foals are well taken care of, and the mares are bred to some spectacular stallions in order to produce lovely foals.

If you have something fugly, conformationally questionable, wormy and underweight, you do not have a PMU foal.
