Who says you can't ride and party?

Our group of usual buddies got together and had a big ride at my trainer's this past weekend.

It POURED rain shortly before we left, so the turnout wasn't as good as it has been in the past (we left two teams and wagons behind), but the weather cleared up to be a perfect day for riding, and there might have been six or so teams and quite a few outriders.

I rode my sister's green 4YO who was in need of some miles. Her first time at one of these things and she was better behaved than a lot of the older horses.

Well, it was a good ride with no wrecks or runaways. We came close when the bridle of one of my dad's Clydes simply fell off, but running away would have been an awful lot of effort for Bob so he decided not to. (That's what the guys are doing in the seventh picture: fixing the bridle)

I'm not sure what everyone in these pictures have to say about their photos going up on the internet, so I've tried to post ones that don't really show faces or specific people. The ones where you do see people, it's probably me or my dad.

There's more coming the next post, I just maxed out the photo limit.

Oh no wait, the one bad thing I DO have to say about my ride is that she is a SQUARE BEAR! Literally, ANY time I try to hold a drink in one hand and the reins in the other, she misbehaves. Not ignorantly, but just throws in a little hitch or head toss or false step that makes it impossible to take a drink without spilling it all down the front of me. I soaked the saddle good a number of times before I finally just gave up and submitted to a liquor-free several hours. As soon as I put the drink down, she goes back to her easy walk. My little liquor-control monitor <3 Always looking out for me! ROFLMAO

I love your little DD. I have decided that my friends and I need a little pack mule to take on rides with us...with a cooler on each side of her belly! It just takes so much effort to go back for fill ups!! We do have filling stations set up along the trails tho!! My house, her house, dad's shop, brothers house, etc!! LOL
