That looks entirely too cold, and yucky, with all that mud under the snow...brrr

Yes it was pretty cold but not cold enough to freeze the ground under the snow, hence the mud under the snow lol. The weather here is messed up lol :P

Psh I wish we'd get just a little snow every year but we only get snow about once every 4 years or so :/. The mountains around us sure they have snow but we live in a valley hah. Your horses are so cute I love Alfies expressions haha.

I live in the valley as well, it usually misses us but I think we just caught the end of it. Yeh they don't look to happy being out In the snow lol, they enjoyed it for the first 5 mins they were running round like fools :P but after that I think they got a bit fed up and wanted to come bk in the warm lol

We have about 2 feet of snow here right now. I do like the snow, but it gets too cold for riding or doing anything but what you absolutely have to do outside. When you are walking a quarter mile out to get the milk cows following the cow trail (if you step off the trail you sink up past your knee) and the wind is whipping, and the temp is -42*C.... That's when you start to look forward to spring.
When I was at home I would ride until it got down to -20*C and after that it just got too cold. But one year I wasn't smart and took a gelding for training in Nov. That year we got unusually cold temps with not much snow in Nov. I still had to put 30 days on this horse so when it got down past -20*C I would walk him for half a mile, ride for half a mile, walk, ride, etc... I think I would only put about 3 miles on a day. One thing for sure, that colt got used to me going up and down a lot. He learned to stand for mounting.
Surprisingly I actually do like winter. But when spring comes, I'm more than ready for it.

Looks like a Canadian winter

I don't mind the snow that much, I wouldn't like to have it for months on end, I'm happy just having it for a week each year lol. It's hard work doing the horses in the freezing cold!! I much prefer the summer!!!!! got a long way to wait until its here tho.
