Yet another Dressage clinic for Spighi

I spent two days working with an interstate coach this weekend. He hadn't been here for 12 months due to various reasons so had not yet worked with Spighi.
As it turns out, he absolutely loved him, and gave me some different things to work on.
Due to Speeg's conformation, he felt it was best if I worked him quite deep and round at home, then only brought him up in the days before a competition. His reasoning - "It's like trying to drive a bus from the back seat". Oh how true with this horse!
We did a lot of work on getting faster reaction times and snappier hind legs, two issues that are always the root of our worries!

By the second day he was certainly cooking with gas, so much softer over the neck and back, hind legs quicker, carrying more weight and reactions to the leg much sharper. We noted that I have been using my seat for too much, rather than expecting him to come off the leg first, so that is something I'll need to think about.
State Championships are coming up this weekend, novice/elementary, so I'll work him in the double for the rest of the week and just put him back in the snaffle for the tests.

He's always so beautiful and fit, and I love the connection I always see between you and whichever horse you are on.

    Thank you :)
I have been pondering selling him due to work and finance committments, but Tor kindly informed me that I'd be a blundering idiot to sell him!

Haha CM good try, keep at it ;) Billy is looking good at the moment, god that horse can move. Spighi trots out in the paddock like a bloody lumberjack, and Billy literally floats across the ground, so balanced and beautifully over his haunches. I can't wait to get him going!!!!

Just STOP!!!! But, I will say I'm quite enjoying watching my two young ones (the human girl child and the horse girl child) come along together. That filly amazes me daily.
