I have to admit, editing these pics, I still question the judges decision. I love my girl to death, but good enough for halter? Granted it was a back country show, so she's basically the prettiest mutt there but she only got beat by two bred and trained QH halter horses. There were about 15-20 horses in the class? She got 3rd place! I almost missed my name because I was so busy clapping for the "girl who had the same name as me". My jaw literally hit the floor.
We were supposed to be in English Equitation in the morning, we scratched halfway through because my dear Arab was acting like an IDIOT and would NOT stand still. I had to just dismount and stand quietly before I beat her in the middle of the ring and got asked to leave. Just acting like she was a green 3 year old and had never seen a show before!
Afternoon we had Western Horsemanship and she did better, but pretty much blew the pattern acting wingy again but at least she stood quietly in line up and that's all I asked of her. By the time we had Rookie Reining she had finally calmed down and performed FLAWLESSLY. I was so proud of her, we didn't pin but we were against some pretty decent competition so I didn't expect to. She behaved perfectly and I was very proud!
After that we had barrels, poles and flags and she was a SAINT. We trotted the patterns a bit at home, but we're on grass so nothing serious and she was just listening to me fantastic. We were against stiff competition so didn't come close to placing in barrels and poles, and managed a 2nd place in flags by default because everyone had left, only 4 people were left, 1 woman got disqualified and Eve reared when Ashley tried to grab the flag and got 3rd.
ANYWAY, enjoy some pics!
Right before halter...I think the judge was high, LOL
LOL, she looks better when she's not trying to stand "square"
Entering the ring - she looks so cute here!

In lineup...oh geez. Rly?
Again, slightly better with a cocked leg I think.
Going to collect our ribbon and moniez, she won me $7, YAY! The first horse in the pic was in 2nd place.
