Aur Bint Shizam

Well I got some better and new pictures of Shazzy that I would like to share with you guys.

In case you don't know yet she is a 6 year old, roughly 13.2hh [haven't taped her yet as she is afraid of the tape lol], pure Arabian mare. She can be double registered with the AHA and the PtHA because of her markings. Basically she was born in a field and left to run with her dam for the first 5 or 6 years of her life. So the only work she has on her is that she knows how to be groomed, trimmed and walk on a halter and lead. That is it.
She is super sweet, but super causious and iffy about things. I am taking things slow with her but she seems eager to please and really smart. I had her flex her neck and touch her nose to her girth line for a treat and after that all I had to do was walk to either side of her and stand at her ribs and she would flex her nose back and touch her side.

So conformation critique and any other comments are welcome, she is pretty much my new project. Along with Beamer. I plan on working with her for halter, showmanship, hunter/jumper, lower level eventing and as a kids pony :]

Sorry no rear shot, we couldn't get a good one of her, maybe next time.

Now just some cute pictures :]

^^Was getting her used to a bareback pad in those. She tried to eat it :]

Wow - Almost identical situation to me and Latte! She was 5yo, and had been in a paddock with her dam her whole life, and is only 13.3h - We both have midget, socially stunted Arab ponies :]

Although I would venture a guess that she is bigger than 13.2h - She looks closer to 14h to me, from those pictures.

I will measure her when I can, but I am pretty sure she isn't quiet 14hh cause I have ridden 14.2hh horses before and she is a lot shorter than them :] But she could be, I am bad at heights lol, I am 5'5" and she seems small to me, I think I will look funny when I do start riding her.

But yeah she is socially awkward lol, she might get sent to a trainer for a little while just to get her started since she is so skittish. But yeah I can't wait to do more with her, she is awesome.

She is super cute! Love her markings - I've never seen just a white knee before! She has a beautiful head and a lot of substance through the body for a straight arab.
The only thing I'm iffy on is the angle of her pasterns up front. There is a lot of slope, although they are short so it's not as bad as long sloping pasterns. Something about the way her knees are set on bothers me but it's most likely an illusion from her markings.
She is adorable - good luck with her!

Tehe thanks everyone :]

Yeah I see what you are saying about the short but really sloping front pasterns I never noticed that before, it doesn't seem to effect her movement at all, she has really floaty gates from what I have seen.

She might be getting sent to a trainer to start her initial training and then I will get to continue working with her after that :]
