I am looking to buy this horse. He is a 4 yr old OTTB gelding who is BLISS to ride, easy, not complicated and a true joy in the barn. (He is owned by a trainer who is very trusted and well regarded by my trainer.) When I got home this week and saw his pictures I was wondering what is up with his stance... He doesn't do it all the time but why is he standing base wide-ish? He also has a narrow chest (that has been slowly widening/filling out) - does that contribute? OR am I hyper sensitive and this is just a pooped out horse who was standing funny?
What I'm wondering here is has anyone ever seen this or had this in a young horse? Will it give me problems down the road? His vet check when he came off the track 6 months ago was completely clear. I'm having him vetted next week. But...What are your thoughts?
And in advance, thanks!
I included a picture of him standing square showing his cute little chest, a photo from the side-ish, and then an example of "the stance."
He's such a peach.
