Changing his name? Suggestions?

I just recently bought a paint QH cross with double blue eyes and he is a darling. But his name does not fit him. At all.

The previous owner has been calling him Dozer, and his owner before that called him beast. I don't think that either one of them fit his personality or his looks.

He is not the biggest horse ever, so beast just doesn't fit and he doesn't act like a beast. He is very laid back and relaxed.

I was a little sceptical about changing the name because some people don't like to change the name if the horse already knows and responds to his name, but I don't believe he knows his name. The previous owner only owned the horse for a few months and she changed the name when she purchased him. So it seems like he has already had a few name changes and it didn't seem to phase him. So I don't think changing the name is a problem. The problem is finding a name that fits.

The names I like so far are Beaux (Bo, but cajun with an "x", because I live in south Louisiana), Blu, Chevy and Charlie.

Can any one think of a name that would be cute and fit his laid back personality?

Giraffe. He has a long thin neck and giraffes move slow (or look to be slow).

-Odyssey
-Spirit
-Lakota
-Dakota

I don't have much, sorry :)

I wouldn't say calling a horse Bo is something I'd come up with or necessarily like, but the spelling you've chosen makes it pretty cool. Of the names you suggested I like Beaux.

He looks like "Phantom" to me, just the first thing that came to mind.

Tommy
Apollo
Sly
Zephyr
...Milton

Personally I have never met a horse that knows or responds to its name. It's more likely that they respond to a person's voice & come to that or their tone, not the name itself.
As to a name for him, I like Beaux ;)
