Conformation Critique

So I do have a post in the "breeding" as well since this started as a pedigree critique, but now I've got a few pictures to do a conformation critique!

My mom just bought two spring babies for us, eventually to be brought up for barrel racing and speed events. I myself am in Arizona right now, so I won't get to see the little guys until February probably, so I've got nothing to go on except photos. The bay is still pretty skittish (he wasn't handled much) so it's hard to get better photos of him.

Here is the pedigree for the Grey:
Ck Grey Meatball Quarter Horse

And here is the sire/dam pedigree for the Bay (his papers are still pending):
Reckless Guy Quarter Horse
Kellys Wrangler Quarter Horse

Names are still trying to be figured out. So if anyone has suggestions on those too ... we are taking them!

I see that the grey appears to be naturally high-headed, so that may be a bit interesting. The bay is downhill at this point, and kind of has a goofy forehead, but he will have plenty of growing to do over the years.

Really hard to tell at this age, but the grey appears to be quite sickle hocked, which could greatly effect his speed later on. His neck also looks long and his shoulder is quite steep.
The bay is butt high, as you said, but I like his legs better. The grey looks like he'll be taller but the bay could end up being chunkier with beefy hindquarters ;)
