| Could someone please critique my Horse! I got Bo in May and he is not registered but on his coggins paper it is stated that he is a Missouri Fox Trotter. He looks more like a Tennessee Walker to me. He mainly does a pacing gait. He is about 16.5 HH tall. I have been trying for the past several months to put more weight on him but he still looks thin to me. Especially looking at him from the front. I would appreciate anything that anyone has to say about him whether it be good or bad. One photo is from the front and the other one is from the side. Then there is one of us out on a ride where he kinda looks like a mule with his big head and ears. He has a very goofy personality. |

| Im not to well at critiquing either, but know abit, still learning :)
But on the riding photo your girth is very loose.. by the looks.
Just so you know, if it is loose your saddle could slip lol.
If the more last photo of him are recent, he doesnt look very thin, But not very muscular.
He does look alot like a TWH too, compared to the MFT. But the size of his heaad kind of throws me off.
Hes pretty :) |

They're mainly on roping saddles to keep the saddle from lifting off of the horses back when the rope is tied around the saddle horn with an animal on the end
The regular cinch is right in front of her leg - looks tight. |

| There's no such thing as 16.5h horse ha ha.
He looks to be around 16hh at the tallest but there's no way to know without measuring.
Cute horse! :] |

| I'm going to guess she means sixteen and a half - as in, 16.2.
He does look a little on the thin side. And he really needs more muscle over his topline. Conformation wise, he looks like he has very good legs and feet, and nice angles in his shoulder and pasterns - I bet he has really smooth gaits. He is very narrow through his chest though (I know a horse just like him in that respect!) which is part of why he looks so thin to you. hat seems to be a very common conformation issue with really gaited breeds like Tennessee Walkers, Saddlebreds, and Missouri Fox Trotters.
As far as weight goes, have you wormed him and had his teeth done? |

| Hi Clementine. His weight really flucuates. But I do ride him alot. Our biggest ride yet was 62 miles in 2 days. I can get him to fill out everywhere but his butt area and his topline. Which it has filled out some since I got him. Previous owners didn't take very good care of him. I wormed him about 3 months ago and then I wormed him again a couple days ago. I usually worm every two months but I didn't want to worm him right before the big ride and bring him down some. My looked at him and said that his teeth were fine for now. He is very smooth at his slower gait but really rough on his fast gaits. His feet has been a work in progress also. I am kinda wondering if he might be trotter and walker mixed. Thanks everyone for your responses so far. |

I agree completely. He has a narrow chest, so he is not sickly skinny, but he does need more muscle.
And his conformation is beautiful, and it seems that you ride him well.
He does seem a little more like a TWH, since he has that long neck and sloping shoulders, but his head throws me off... So yep, he probably is a mix. :)

Reason: Punctuation error. ;)
