Chanti is a 6 year old Pintaloosa mare, 14.3 hands. The only work she's been doing is giving rides to kids and that was just a few times since she injured herself but she's slowly coming back into work.
These pics are recent, taken just a few days ago. Usually she stands better but it had been a while since I worked with her on standing square and she was being stubborn lol.
Sundance is about 4-5 years old, grade stallion but probably Paint/QH and he's just a smidge over 14.3. Has had about 20 rides now. The under tack pics are from a few days ago and the one without tack is from a couple months ago.
We got him for free in October because he was going to be shot because his old owner just decided he didn't want his horses anymore and he didn't want to try to find them homes. He's been an awesome horse with the best temperament.
I really like the first horse! Very pretty & nicely built. She is slightly cowhocked & I can't tell if it's just the angle she's standing at, but int he one picture she looks downhill..
As for the 2nd guy, the biggest thing I notice is he needs bulk, which will come with time & work. His hind legs are a little stretched out & his croup is steep but again, with work he should be able to build more muscle to his bum.
Thanks ruffian, you're right about Chanti ;) She is a little cow-hocked and a little butt-high but not as bad as she was as a yearling and 2 year old lol. I'm glad her butt finally caught up. Sundance is hard to get to stand square and I didn't realize the first pic was so blurry but I can get a better pic of him today without tack.
I'm wondering why the second horse hasn't been gelded yet? He is definitely not breeding quality.
As for the mare, she's a nice stocky little girl. I do see quite a bit of toeing out in the back legs, and all four limbs seem a bit posty, but not too bad. Looks like she could drop a few pounds though.
