Critique me and Magic please

I'd really like a critique of both me and Magic, just be honest I won't be offended.

Nice horse. BUT.. here it comes.. =P

Look forward. If you look down if affects your riding.. without you even knowing it.
Keep contact with your horses mouth.

I agree. Look where your going! That is the biggest thing I saw. It kind of looks like your horse is trying to pull his head away from you too but I'm not sure, it could just be the picture... Someone else will know for sure!

Beautiful leg position, you look like you have a very strong lower back! Nice quiet, low hands.

Opportunity for improvement,...if you work with Magic to be softer and more responsive to the bit, you will notice that he/she? Will elevate shoulders more and drive further with the hind. Beautiful prospect!

I agree I like your leg but try to feel your weight dropping into your heels and really let them strech down. I also agree with getting a little more contact with your horses mouth and look up lol. You two look absolutly awesome together.

Over all a pretty picture. I just want to second that your heels could be lower, but I s'pose in a dressage saddle it's not as big a deal since you want more leg contact, and speaking of which, you probably want more contact with the bit. Going with this, someone help me out, but your hand position looks slightly off to me, as in their height against the withers. Maybe lower them like 2 inches? Maybe that's just the hunter talking in me...

Aww, you both look lovely! You have a very nice leg position, that ties in well with your hips and shoulders. I agree about looking up as well, this will make for a much better ride. I find SO much of a difference if I keep my eyes up when I ride because for one thing, my horse is better able to anticipate where I am going and prepare for smoother circles and transitions. I like how you have soft hands, but it looks like your horse may be taking advantage of your light contact. I'm not saying you need more pressure, have just a bit more of a firmer hold, and lower your hands as well slightly. I notice your horse is turning his head a bit and this tells me he may be evading you, but its hard to tell. I would work on doing inside and outside bends with him, getting him soft and working on that bit.

Oh, and to add -- Magic has beautiful extension! With a bit more leg pressure and work through the hind end, his legs would look very impressive.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future'" ~ Jeremiah 29:11
