I still am udecided between the two..I like Peppy (the first one) because of the hair and his size and laid back attitude. But I also like Adonis (the second one) for his build and his smarts, he is so stunning to see in person!
Please bear in mind I don't know anything about Paso Finos or gaited horses; but this is what I see as a general critique:
Base narrow both in front and behind.
Back at the knee (may be the way she's stood up)
Short, underdeveloped neck
Butt high, steep croup
Somewhat long in the back, weak connection of the back to the wither.
Short hindquarter
Doesn't fit "into the box" conformationally; can't be divided into equal thirds.
So I have to agree with the previous poster that said she wasn't breeding quality. What are her good qualities that you want to reproduce and why are thinking of breeding her? And what do you want to do with the possible foal?
Thanks for the advice and after some thought I agree...I will not be breeding her. But to clear some things up...both the stallions have beautiful confirmation and LOTS of show points. Misty has no show points that I am aware of....the lady I got her from rescued her from an abusive man...he beat her for having a dead foal...it was dead because he was starving her!! If I did breed her I would have a home for the baby...since that was the case that was why I was thinking of it...Misty has some NAMES on her papers...but not many people around here know them since Pasos are new to this area
Hmm, cute mare but not something that needs to be bred. I cannot say anything on either stallion as the pictures arent great for a critique but nothing I can say from the pictures you have posted screams stallion. The first one has a very pretty mane though and he should come talk to my quarter horses about growing one...
I have to agree with the others, here...she is certainly a cute mare, and good for you for rescuing her, but IMO she is not nice enough quality to breed.
A stallion is only half of the equation in a good breeding, and he can only 'correct' a certain amount of flaws; so really, you need a mare that is nicely conformed as well, in order to get a nice quality baby.
