    critique my boys conformation

This is my boy Chex. I have always wonder what people think of his conformation. He's a 7 year old registered Quarter Horse Gelding. We only do the odd trail ride, but we're going to start riding alot more this year. I can handle the tough critique so don't be shy to say the honest truth abut him :)

I'm no conformation expert, but I will say that I love his colouring, and his dapples! And also, is he a bit overweight, or is that just the QH look? How tall is he?

Thank you :) His color is something different. He changes color so much. I don't think he's overweight. He's around 15.2 I think. I'll have to measure him for his exact measurements.

He is in good health ;) also his withers are in a strange place ? Lol one of my riders had a horse like this and she had a hard time finding a saddle for her. Once you start riding him more his back end will improve and build more muscle but over all very cute boy

He's fat! Long back, solid legs (possibly very mildly calf-kneed), good enough neck from what I can see, nice shoulder, overall nice hind but I'm not entirely keen on his hock angle--seems the slightest bit sickled.

Long back, short legs, sickle hocks, insufficient bone for the size of his body. Nice top line, nice neck, nice shoulder.

He's a cutie, and stocky like I like 'em! He seems to have smokiness on his legs; color gurus correct me, but does he have the silver gene do you think?

    Thanks everyone :)
He's my special man. I love him no matter what faults he has!
Equiniphile, I have no clue if he carries the silver gene. I have a post about is color in the color board. He's registered as a Palomino.
