Critique my boys weight gain?

Hello~ I was wondering if I might be able to get a couple extra opinions on how well my horse looks to be doing with his weight. I got him as a rescue who was starved and beaten, and was a little rack. Dx He still needs to gain a lot more weight, but this is his progression over the first month.
He's a little Arabian somewhere around 15hh or lower (Haven't measured him yet).

When I first got him

Little after:

Somewhere between now and the middle of the month

Most recent BEFORE his bath/brushing lawls:
(Him being akward)

And for fun~ SUPER SHINEY RAINBOW PONY!

He's lookin good! Love the halter :].

He looks like he could use a little more muscle, but he's gaining weight very nicely and is very shiny! What are you feeding him?

Thanks~!

Yah I started to up his work load a wee bit (Nothing overly, just working a little longer/started on small hills)
So far I just started him on sweet feed and beat pulp twice a day on top of having either hay or grass to munch on through the day but I tend to keep the grass cut down to taking him on the lead cause he hasn't had much of it before me (He was just on hay and now he's getting slowly pumped with goodies). <3

I'm workin on building up my horses muscles too. Problem is my work and school schedule is busy, plus the time is changing soon so it gets darker faster. Sucks!

You might've put this in your first post, so forgive me if I ask a stupid question! What are you going to use him for?

Know the feeling! I only have the road/small stretch of a front yard to practice on and after classes and teaching (I give little beginner lessons) It's close to dark~ x__X

Oh! I want to use him as my new hunter project~ He's really cute and a nice mover and LOVES to jump~ His ears are always perked and he gets so happy when he see's I'm bringing him up to a line so I thought it'd be great. He'll try and jump just about anything just to get the whole "Look what I did mommy!" Look on his face and extra skip in his prance. I thought the judges would probably love that. XD <3 But I want to see about at the end of his first show season sticking him in a hopeful jumpers class just for fun cause he loves to speed like no ones business~ If he's good with it I might just have to switch him over~ ;D
