Critique my personal horse!!!!! Some cool stuff, look

9 year old Pinto gelding. Showing in 3ft show jumpers,team penning, barrel racing and walk trot classes with my lesson students. Most level headed,smart, hearted horse I have ever had. He was my first horse when I was 11 years old, I broke him when I was 11. He had only been rode 3 times before me at time of purchase. He is my life.

(this video is a joke) but you can see I ride him bareback and bridle less. Doing that stupid redneck "stand on the horse" thing

What exactly are we critiquing?

You appear to be the type who does jumpers going nine million miles an hour and forgoing any finesse. Actually getting better spots and leads will help your time even though you are going slower (because you are more flowing and more balanced).

And wins at nine million miles an hour, tell you what no matter what lead he takes he's still the happiest pony walking out of the arena at schooling shows. And if he's not balanced than I'm the president of the united states he totally saves himself when I can't in tight situations. 5th leg, im telling you.

But what are you guys critiquing? Nothing I guess. Call me crazy but I thought I thought you could post videos of a horse and rider partnership and feel good about it on here. Maybe critique a specific approach to a fence...i know there was a few close ups in the video

Saying you are running around a course instead of navigating it is a critique of your riding and training.

Running like crazy is rampant in the lower level jumper classes. It may win. But it is not the correct way to do a jumper course and it will not work at the higher levels.

You need to slow down and go back to basics so you can regulate your horses pace to the jumps. Setting the horse up properly for the jump allows you to clear the jump and move forward with out stuttering and knocking down poles.

Your title of this thread is asking for a critique, and ABs point of your speed is a valid one.

If you didn't want a critique it would probably have been better to not ask for one, and have posted this in the video section rather than the critique section of the board.
