This is Eightysix he's a late 4 year old Quarter Horse, as in he was born later in the year. But he's getting cut hopefully next week. He's kinda standing a little stretched out here, but oh well. I know he's down hill right now and his neck looks to big for him. But his neck muscle will go down once he's a gelding and hopefully he'll start growing more once he's gelded and being ridden. Otherwise what do you think of him?
Wow his neck/head look huge compared to his front legs/shoulders! Kind of like it was photoshoped on there from another horse! Do quarter horses really change that much still after they hit 4? No wonder he is downhill having to carry that around on the front! J/k j/k =D
His toes look really really long in the front but it could be a trick of the photo / grass, it's too small to really tell.
None taken. I know he'll change quite abit when he's gelded and is being worked. He'll develope withers once he's being worked, plus he'll gain muscle. Right now he's kinda chubby. He's neck should be more fitted to him once it's lost some of that muscle, mainly the crest. And yes, his feet are long and need to be worked on, when he gets to my house he'll be getting trimmed.
Can someone actually critique the parts of him I haven't pointed out? I know he's butt high (he's young he'll grow) his neck is to big (gelding him will take away his crest neck), he has mutton withers, (being ridden will make him develope withers). I want to know about his legs; are they straight? Does he have a good slope to his shoulder? Is his back to long? Does he have the start of a conformation that can withstand a lifetime of performance every weekend?
He will change with riding and being gelded, but it won't be drastic. I'll post pictures of him after I've had him a couple of months. But please stop pointing out the faults I already have and look at the rest of him
The bottom picture he's resting his foot and both pictures have his front end looking so awkward there's no real way to critique his shoulder. Based on the pictures he looks really out of balance. He looks really straight legged in the bottom picture but I'm not sure that is a genuine reflection of what he really looks like.
Take some pictures from the side, front and back on even ground and you'll get the critique you are looking for.
