Critique please

I know the picture could be better for a critique, but I wanted to know what other people saw as well. This is my lease horse Flash, a 15 y/o Quarter/Arabian.

Also, what color would you say he is?

He is a lovely dark bay, to me.

His hip/croup is odd. There seems to be some kind of bump right up by the sacro illiac joint. Has he had an injury there? His hip is flat (as are many arabs) but is also kind of short and appears on the weak side. Otherwise, he is built pretty nicely. I am sure you and he are a nice pair.

The vet said it's just a calcification and it's not hurting him. We will be a good pair once I get my balance and rhythm back lol thanks =)

I see. That makes sense, since the bump is kind of small and sharp. Yeah, he's a pretty horse for sure. What kind of riding will you do?

Well, I was always an English girl, but I'm riding him Western. He was trained in Barrels and Dressage and absolutely LOVES barrels. I don't want to take him away from what he loves so I'm going to learn barrels once I get my balance and rhythm back as I have been out or over a year and put on 70 lbs lol

My quarab and I used to run barrels, he loved it too! He was also a bay, lol!
Other than what tinyliny pointed out about his croup, the one thing that really pops out to me are his front pasterns. They look very upright to me. Other than that, I would have to agree- I think he's a very nice looking horse. Good short pasterns, good bone, he looks balanced to me. I love his head and neck, too.

Agreed with the above. His pasterns are very very upright. He has a soft, kind eye though. Looks like a sweetie.

Oh he is such a sweetie. Probably the most sweetest horse I've been around
