Smile Critique, please!

You don't have to critique me because I already think I look horrible. The stirrups were a tad long and I just don't think I look my best. I tend to sometimes stiffen up. I'm more focused on having the horse's movements critiqued. I'm looking at possibly purchasing this mare. She was a lot of fun to ride and definitely has a good engine on her. The bucking is from the flies. They were really attacking her. At the end of the ride when I dismounted I looked her over and she had blood marks all over her legs from where the horseflies were getting her :(

This is her being lunged.

This mare has only had 90 days of professional training with an occasional ride here and there. She has not been ridden at all since the fall of last year so she is still fairly green.

Thanks for watching them!

Very pretty! Get that girl to a dressage trainer to make that trot reach its potential. She looks like she could really be something fun.

Very nice horse. Looks well balanced and very loose in her back. When she is conditioned, she'll be killer!

And there's not one thing wrong with your riding!

She looks great! What are you hoping to do with her? And I agree I can't see any faults in your riding, and remember your riding a new horse as well.

Well, thank you! I always doubt my ability even despite compliments. And yes, it's a good point that it was my first ride on her. Thank you again :)

I'm hoping to at least jump with her. The owner is a former eventer and she suggests that I try doing that because she thinks Roswitha would be an excellent prospect and because she said it's a lot of fun. Supposedly she also has the pedigree for it. Her sire is Rosenthal and her grandfather (on the dam's side) is Wolkenstein II.

Bump! :)

I am heartbroken that you won't be training her for dressage. Why don't you just let me take her off of your hands? ;) For a green horse I really like her. Do you have any still conformation shots of her?

If you and your horse can communicate and are an effective team, don't doubt yourself! Just look at improving your riding as a way to make it even better--not a shortcoming on your part.

Well, I bought her! :):):)

I have only one side shot of her but it isn't really great. My boyfriend took it so he wasn't looking to make it a conformation shot like I would've haha. It's slightly angled and she was on a little if uneven ground. When she comes to the barn I board my other horse at, hopefully this weekend, I'll post pictures :)

Also, after some thought and talking to the, now former, owner, I'm considering to maybe try eventing. That way there will be dressage, xc, and show jumping. I just have to find trainers. I would also have to look into dressage saddles down the road. I'm excited!

Congratulations on your new horse! I can't wait to see some photos when you have her home and settled.
