Exclamation Critique and what would you offer?

Alright... I think you're allowed to post these here but if not then someone remove it. So I'm thinking about leasing / buying this mare, and I'd like some input. I'm horrible at ball-parking worth and have no idea what to even offer... I'm probably going to see if they're alright with a free lease with potential to buy or lease to own or what have you, but I need a few numbers.
This is the ad and a picture.

After much deliberation and procrastination the time has sadly come to offer Alli for sale/lease.She is a 12 year old black bay 15.1 h.h. Appendix mare. ( no papers ). This mare this is pretty much a" been there, done that type" show mount. She has had extensive schooling on the flat which reflects in the show ring. She is a consistant winner in the eq and dressage rings. This mare has many wins and championships at various show venues with a variety of different riders over the past several years. ( Thunderbird/Milner/MREC/CVP/ISLAND22/Windsor etc...) She has been shown up to 2'6 in the Hunter rings. . She is excellent out on the roads and trails with an experienced rider. Alli is not suitable for a nervous or timid rider as she draws her confidence from you. She has spent the past two years competing in various disciplines. However over the past 3 months she has just been used to leadline my daughter around. She is suitable for a confident and quiet rider as she is very responsive and sensitive. She has an awesome puppy dog disposition and always trys to please her rider. She has impeccable ground manners and has no vices. Alli is being offered for sale/lease only because she is just a bit too much horse for my 4 year old daughter to ride by herself. We have just purchased the perfect pony for my daughter and now we have one too many horses. Alli is sound, all shots/shoe/worming are up to date. She clips/bathes/hauls. Please feel free to call anytime to view. Xxx-xxx-xxxx We are very open to offers on this mare as we just want her to be placed in a good home.

I'm in the fraser valley of BC, if anyone is from around here and knows the market, if not all I can say is I think it's still pretty good...

I'm not really familiar with those shows so I can't critique on that part. She looks like a pretty nice horse but definitely needs work. She is rather chunky! Without seeing her jumping, I would say around $3,000. As it says nothing of her having potential for anything higher than 2'6" and she is 12. I would assume that she is just that, a low level good all around horse. It would be pretty easy to find a horse like this in the 3-4k range, therefore I wouldn't really pay much more than that. But then again it's hard to set a price based on just this picture and the shows she listed. There is not real proof that she has won all these shows. I looked at a horse once and the owner told me of 3 shows that she had "won". I looked up her record and she did win one... out of 3 horses. The other 2 she got eliminated in. Anyone can say their horse won this championship class or something.

Her pasterns are too upright and her neck ties into her shoulder a little low. She also needs more conditioning. I'm not super impressed with her, but if she's got the temperament you're looking for, go for it.

I wouldn't offer more than $3000 at the maximum. I can't imagine why she would ever be worth 10-15 grand.

What are you planning to use this mare for? Jumping, dressage, trail riding? Who will be her primary rider and how much experience does the primary rider have?

sorry, just saw the part that said no papers. Just kidding. I'd say around 5grand. My first horse had less experience then this horse (or, what the poster claims) was broke as can be, had papers, and was the same size for 5,500.

I just so happen to live here in florida. It takes a long time to sell if sell at all for that price. If she was a TB then yeah maybe but not as an apendix.

If you're willing to venture south a bit into northern Washington state, there might be a few horses that are more appealing. On just a cursory search I found these two. Horse ID: 1623867 - Big Time Endeavors Horse ID: 1651277 - Elegant Dream Shadow

I'm from FL too, & actively horse shopping at the moment. The only horses I'm seeing for 5 figures are Warmbloods & horses successfully competing at 3ft+, & even a lot of them are $10k or less.
I agree with what others have said, I wouldn't pay any more than $3500 for her based on her legs & lack of conditioning.
