Critique!!!~

Please critique horse and rider! :)
I posted a conformation critique for Kailin (owner + rider) a while ago. This is them riding a couple months ago, they've started taking more lessons since then. Anywhooo do you're best to critique!

Unrealjumper,

i am confused. Is the person in the video yourself? We cannot give a critique on anyone except you. It's against forum rules to request a critique on another person. Please clarify.

Yep it's critique of another person, but I have her full permission. She sat here next to me while I made the thread.

Okey dokey.

Well, I am not a western pleasure rider, so take that into account.
She is doing pretty well, all in all. To me, it's a bit of a chair seat, but I know that is typical in a lot of Western riding. I see her frequently encouraging the hrose to lower his head by a gently pull of the reins, and to be honest, I thought the horse's head position BEFORE being corrected was right where I would want it to be . Also, I saw the back of the saddle popping up and down with the canter quite a bit. kind of hard to see 'cause video is not in great focus, but wonder why it's popping up and down so much.

Rider looks confident and calm and sits uprigtht and looks forward.

the rider is me in the video and she does have permission. and the saddle im using is tight on the shoulders on him. i just recently got him and havent gotten a new saddle yet. in reining we want our horses heads quite low and slightly rounded.

I think a better fitting saddle would be my first recommendation. I know not always as easy as it sounds, but till you mentioned that I was going to say your riding was really stiff. It has you bouncing around at all gaits.

My major critique is constancy... I understand you are working on a headset, but at the canter your hands were bouncing and raising higher as you cantered on. Then again this could all be the saddle.
