    Critque please :)

    Hey y'all!

So for the past six years I've been working for a couple foxhunts and, needless to say, my nice jumping form has pretty much gone out the window. Out there, it's more about staying on your horse, staying with the hounds, and watching for the game, low branches, and holes in the ground!

So below are a few pictures taken last weekend of my mare and me jumping at the new place we are boarding. Let me know if there is anything you think needs tweaking or correcting, I'm all ears open to suggestions.

Sorry this is a little blurry (the photographer was trying to figure out my camera still!)

I already know she took off a bit early on this one (we're still working to get our correct spots still).

    Thanks everyone!

We-he-ell. Miss "bad jumping position," you actually have a very nice jumping position. :) I'd just recommend working on your release a little bit. Not that it's bad, but it seems a tad bit too close to the saddle. Savvy? ;D

Have fun, love your horse, and remember: A transition is just a glorified half halt!

Thanks mudpie! I'll keep that in mind, I've come to realize my old trainer tended toward a short crest release as opposed to a long crest release, so it was what I learned... old habits die hard.

Also, forgot to ask, if any of you have any comments about my mare either, I'd like to hear them also!

Your pretty mare has a beautiful bascule over the jumps! I am jealous and wish that Mudpie would pick up his knees all perfect like her. In fact, I kinda wish that he'd jump like her... But, hey, I love him and it's okay if he's not the best jumper because it's not like I expect him to go prelim or even training. Wait, nevermind. Your mare. Got it. ;)

She looks like she has a really good attitude about jumping. If ever there's a random person who comes up and gives her a hug, assume that it's me. Because she seems like she'd be a huggable girl. Definitely never as huggable as Mudpie! But huggable nonetheless.

Have fun, love your horse, and remember: A transition is just a glorified half halt. :)
