Cross Country Schooling Event 5/30/10 *Image Heavy*
This is my schooling event I took my student too, I brought my eventer with me as well. You guys can critique if you want I know my major flaws to fix, but just to give you some back ground info Petey aka Overdrive was a bred Advanced Eventer, he competed up to Training/Prelim don't remember which before I got him years ago. He jumps like a freaking rocket and I havent jumped anything over 2ft in over 4yrs and havent jumped him in over 3 1/2 bc he was with my trainer in Kentucky because I couldnt afford both horses here. So please be easy, I was pretty proud of myself and him, there are no pics of my student or her horse on here.
Good job! I won't critique your riding just because you said you already what you have going on, but your pony, what a cutie! You can tell he loves his job eh. He's really scopy and really clean. Would have loved to be there for photos!
You guys going to keep going and do more eventing? This is definitely a great start to things, and he seems to absolutely love it.
The only major mistakes I really see is that you're letting your leg swing back which is causing you to tip forward and out of the saddle. It could be an issue if he pulls a dirty stop on you, but it's obvious from your photos that you do know HOW to ride and ride **** good - you're just getting ahead of him in some shots, which is only going to come with time.
Let me tell you, I'd pay a million dollars to look that good after several YEARS off!
I love that you are in a certified and approved vest - but I highly recommend you pick up a Skull Cap, that helmet you're wearing really appears to be impeding your line of vision.
Your boy definitely loves to do the job at hand, he is very powerful and scopy.
I love his mowhawk!
You're jumping ahead, alot - and looking down. Big no no for Eventing, you are far better to get left behind that get ahead. As already said, you really need to solidify your lower body to solidify your upper, and a solid core to secure you in your tack.
