Galloped bareback for the first time!!!

Oh my gosh it was soooo kool!!! Its sooo smoothe too. I've always loved bareback riding and I used to be scared to do anything but a trot. Once I got the canter down pat a few yrs ago I was riding bareback better than I ever thought I could. Just today I was at my fiance's aunts house and we were riding the horses, well she was all the was on the other side of the pasture and my horse loves to be with him of course so he looked up and I knew exactly what he wanted. I just barley touched him and he took off!!! For those of you who have experienced the same thing as I did I now know how you felt! For those who havnt, I have to say it is more comfortable and you have to do it!

The first time I galloped bareback it was on accident, and almost directly into the fence. But I didn't fall off and that's what really matters.

OMG I know the feeling, I have this long stretch that I will just turn him loose on and it's just the most adrenalin filled moment of the whole ride.

Ahhh you guys are soooo awsome!!! It WAS an adrenaline rush too lol. I was a little of center but for the first time I think it went pretty good. I'm glad you didnt fall off Sophie19 that woulda hurt

I finally loped bareback last week!

How did you like it thunderhooves? I just think it is so smoothe to canter, lope, gallop without a saddle. What do you think?

Lol the first time I galloped was incidental and I was clinging like a monkey to Dana's neck (before I learnt that sitting up is better position LOL) but it still felt cool

It felt awsome PGC......though my mare tried to buck me. I pulled the reins up with one hands, leaned back a little, and held mane with the other hand with urging her forward. She stopped finally,though.

Thunderhooves: well at least you got her to stop lol. Yea my horse is very hard to stop when he's going full blast like most horses but eventually he stops. The only thing that I have trouble sitting bareback and saddle is when I want him to canter and he just keeps on trotting faster and faster! It's like, come on just canter already its easier on you than that extremely fast trot haha

Ah galloping bareback...tons of fun unless your horse gets away from then its terrifing lol Either way lots of adrenaline...glad that you had fun your first time!
