Going to see her Sunday

I e-mailed the owners with Ducthes (supposed to be Dutchess according to the owner). They havn't responded so I called them.
She's broken to ride, as bombproof as you can find, loves water and grooming, the perfect height, right around the right age, and although she is at the top of my price range, they did mention they would be willing to work with the person interested.

She is UTD on everything except coggins which he said he would have pulled either this week or next.

I know her pictures arn't exactly critique friendly but could you give it your best shot. Let me know what you like or don't like about her.

Is it just me or does she look like she might have a bit of draft in her?

Anyone? Anyone at all? Really, I'm not picky!

Foundation bred paints and quarters are supposed to be bigger like that (wideness wise, not height wise). Her legs look to skinny to have much if any draft in her. Though she does look to have a pretty big neck, which is either her just being fat (which she doesn't look overweight, just has a thicker build), or she's got something in her that gives her the big neck. She is cute, I love her face markings. The only thing I see that I don't like, which could just be the angle of the picture, or the way she's standing ect., is her front feet. Her front feet look too long, and she has no heel from what the picture shows, which could just be bad trimming, or she may end up needing shoes (looks like she's barefoot) so I would be a bit careful of that. Other than that, she looks really cute, and has a good build. Good luck. Hope it turns out good.

Nah, she just looks like a bigger paint mare. I love riding those though. There was one at the camp I volunteer at last summer and boy was she a comfy ride. She had a bigger barrel so she was super comfy to ride bareback. She was super comfy anyway. Haha The only issue with her was that she didn't spook often but when she did... >.< And she had a rearing problem, but that was her and not this adorable mare!

I like her! I think there is nothing wrong with her feet that can't be fixed by a farrier who knows their stuff.
She does look like she might be a little cow hocked but that's not a big deal. I don't really see anything (from these pictures at least) that makes me say "OMG! Somebody stop Lucara!" I say if you go see her and you two click, get her! =D I think she IMO looks and sounds like a great first horse. =)

Edit: She also looks a bit straight shouldered which might make her a rougher ride but the nice angle of her pasterns should help that a little. Rough is as rough does too, Lacey is super rough at the trot so I haven't had any trouble at all sitting the trot of every other horse I've ridden in the last 3 months (even 'horribly" rough ones) because I have muscles from Lacey. She doesn't even feel that bad anymore now that I've gotten used to it.

I really like her. I agree, her feet could be fixed with a couple correct trims, and she's very pretty. I think she's just a stocky paint, but who knows, she could have some draft!

Does anyone think that she may be able to be registered? I could ask the owner if he knows who her sire and dam are.

I like her face, its very pretty. I'm not a confirmation expert, but I wonder why they won't show any pictures of her front end? When you visit her, I'd take an extra special look there, in case they're hiding something.
I like how she's big and stocky. From the pictures, she looks like a nice-working horse.
Whenever my mum looks at horse ads, she always takes note of the spelling. Some ads have really bad spelling, so my mum always checks them out thoroughly if we like the horse because some can be a scam or the horse could be different to the ad.
Overall, I like the look of her and her feet can be fixed. As always, just make sure you have a good look at her and check everything out.

I don't know about the APHA but I know that the AHA (Arabian horse Association) costs a pretty penny to register a horse after they're like 2. She probably is able to be registered, if her parents are registered and if the guy knows who they are. I was going to register Lacey then I looked into it and it would have cost me something like $200-300 to register her.

If you end up getting her you'll probably want to know who her parents are. I didn't ask Lacey's previous owner and now I REALLY want to know. Haha It's fun to be able (I found her dad) to look at the pedigree and find pictures of her ancestors that look crazily exactly like her.
