I want to someday compete in big barrel racing events... and I am trying to find the right horse for that. Here is a picture of me on a friends horse at a local gymkhana. I know her stance is a bit strange and hard to tell her conformation, but this is the only OK picture I have of her. She is quite fast too and seems to have the barrel horse conformation, but just wondering if I could have a more professional opinion than Google
There are better examples out there but in my PO it's more the horse than the conformation. Of course you dont want anything with glaring defects but they dont have to be perfect just fast, quick and responsive. Quarter horses are an excellent breed for this, though others do well also.
The mare above's conformation isnt excellent but obviously she does well.
