Hi there.
Well, I bought a 7 year old Quarter Horse gelding about three months ago named Eli. His overall conformation looks pretty good to me, but I am no expert.
So here I am, asking critique on Eli's conformation - what do you think? Is he in good shape? In the future, do you think he could be a good non-pro barrel horse?
Thanks!
I agree with you, his overall confirmation is pretty good. I am not that experienced with speed events, but what little I do know, he looks decent but not skookum. Nice looking horse though.
I think he would be a good non-pro barrel horse. He has a nice back, big hip and nice shoulders. I'm not an expert on legs though so I'll allow someone else to critique. BTW I LOVE his colour in the first picture. You don't see a lot of vibrant red-heads.
He looks slightly calf kneed to me but it might be some of the angles.Pasterns look good..the back ones might be a little short. Someone might correct me on this.
Nice hip and nice round shoulders!
His body looks balanced. I think that he is put together nicely.
Nice looking gelding ! He has nice balance, a pretty head, and good muscling. He looked a little steep crouped in the first picture but doesn't in the other ones, so I think that was just the camera angle. He's nice and compact - I think he should be very well suited for barrels.
Very nice looking guy. He appears a bit long backed, but not grossly so. He has a high croup and withers, but I like those myself. He's a solid looking gelding...
Thank you all so much for your critique and compliments, I really appreciate them!
