Jumper show critique please!!!

Hey guys. If you have seen my other posts from a couple months ago I wanted you to critique me and my pony Donna. Well, she has gotten a lot better, she keeps her head down most of the time and all that stuff. But I just did a jumper show with her on Saturday. It was amazing!!! I've done them before but it was my first one with Donna. She went over every jump, no problem, didn't knock anything down. The only time we got a fault it was my fault because I couldn't find the #6 jump so i accidentally crossed my path but o well. I got a 2nd and 5th place and disqaulified when i crossed my path.

But I was wondering if you guys would tell me how you think I did?? I did lose my stirrup over the last 2 jumps because it had moved and I was trying to fix it, so it would be comfortable but it ended up in me not having it at all but i kept my seat and finished. yay!!! That was also the class i got a 2nd place in out of 6 people.

so heres the link to the video. Let me know if the link works please!!

Hey I saw it. You look pretty good. My main critique is that you seem to be a little heavy with your hands, hanging on your horse's mouth. Try softening your hands a little and communicating more through your seat and legs. You'll have less of a tug of war and more of a two way communication.

Yes, I know, me and my trainer are working on that, ALOT. But I also have to make sure I have contact and be able to guide her or else she will just completely take off. I am trying to find her good spot to where I am not holding the reins too tight or too loose.

That was also her only second show EVER and her first jumper show. So i was pretty happy with the outcome. =)

She does look ready to explode, I think you rode her wonderfully for the circumstances and with time and experience hopefully she will calm down. Maybe take her to some shows without jumping, just flat work.
Is that a standing martingale on her though? I would recommend changing it for a running martingale, give her a little more freedom to round up over the jumps ans not catch herself.
You have a great lower leg, nice and solid, your hands are as quiet as can be and you are moving with her quite well. I think overall you did a great job with her, keep it up!

I love your pony! She has some speed to her! I agree with the others that you need to work on sitting more, and not hanging off her face (I know its tough when all they want to do is go). Im not great at critiques so I'll leave it there, but good luck and keep up the good work!

Aw she's adorable. You ride her really well. I'm not the best at critique's but like everyone else said you're a little strong with the hands and I think you need to give her a take off leg a little bit more so she picks up her feet more over the jump?

Ever feel like the one place you are happy and whole is in the saddle?

Thanks for the compliments and advice everyone!!

But like I said, I am working on my hands. It is just difficult because anytime i loosen up on the reins she speeds up, unless im walking. She just has SO much energy. One day I lunged her on the lunge line TWICE and rode her for two hours and she still would not just settle down. So I am working on all of that, i promise! haha

I wanted to give her more leg and get her to go faster and pick her feet up more but I was so focused on just knowing the course I wasn't concentrating on too much. That was the only show I went to that I didn't forget any parts of the course. haha Next time will be better though. =)
