Jumping Critique (Horse and Rider)

This is me and my mare in October. I have just recently started taking serious jumping lessons in June and she has had no real jump training. Besides me pointing and saying go over it. Honest critique is appreciated. Thanks

you can tell she took off super long, since she is landing so close to the base of the jump. You look like you got a little left behind, but she is also unfolding so you could just be sitting up. Make sure you are riding right to the base, don't go onto auto-pilot cruise control 3 strides out or your horse will jump from wherever, keep your leg on and let her know when a good spot to take off is. You gave a nice release and she is stretching into it, it doesn't look like you are pulling on her. I think your horse is adorable.

That's an interesting picture to chose for a critique 0-0

She's landing right on top of the jump, it's a strange picture -- I would probably have picked one that was an average jump for you so the critique would be more meaningful?

Cute horse though :)

I agree your horse took off really early and you got left behind, which is natural if you didn't expect it. Any pictures where your horse's timing is right?
