Jumping Position: Improvement?

I went to my second horse show yesterday and my dad got some pictures of me jumping. Amber and I have only been jumping for about a year, and we are taking things slow so we are only competing over crossrails right now. My first show was in November and I noticed that I was jumping ahead and not releasing enough. From these pictures does it look like my position is improving? I feel like it is even though we didn't place as well this time (the judge only pinned little kids on ponies even though most of them had bad equitation ).
First picture is from November, the others are from yesterday.

There is definite improvement, but something looks 'off' to me, I just can't put my finger on it.
And remember, don't get too worked up over the placing, obviously there was something in the little kids the judge liked

In the last photo you're in a bit of a chair seat, your legs are too far out in front of you, maybe because your stirrups are too short? I also don't see an adequate release, you look like you're holding onto your horses mouth, the reins are quite tight and look like they're pulling. The other pictures are a bit better, but the angles are off for proper critique of your release. Aside from that maybe someone else can chime in? I'm not sure exactly what I'm seeing...

The one thing that really jumped out at me is that I kind of hunch my shoulders. Maybe that is what you are seeing? I was mostly concentrating on Amber during the show and not as much on my position. She tends to rush jumps and get really speedy, so if I am not very careful and pay attention I out of habit don't release. In the last picture, I think maybe I got left behind? This picture kind of confused me because my position is very different in it than the others.

There has been a big improvement!

What I am noticing though is you are very locked in your hips. You need to have more of a "fold" at the hips. I always suggest to my students to go home and sit on a yoga ball, don't let your bum touch it though, just lightly hover over it and practise going into a two point. Its better if you can do it in front of a mirror. Just go from sitting tall to going into two point. Watch where your leg goes, allow yourself to open your hip angle and have a soft fold at the hips, pretend you are holding the reins, work on having your shoulders back, pull up in your tummy, elbows in and hands where they would sit in a release. Doing this will help you loosen up at the hips and feel your position. Then you can take this back to the barn and work on doing it on your mare.

Also set up trotting poles just slightly raised, go into two point going down the poles with a release and use your core to control the stride.

If this is clear as mud let me know and I will do a better description of it for you when I get home tonight

BTW your mare is adorable! I love her to pieces!

Thank you for your ideas! I think I have a yoga ball hiding around here somewhere. I will definitely try that!
