    Romanticlyric took the words out of my mouth, she beat me to the punch. Riding the horse as it is now is no indication as to how it will be in good condition If you have the time why not work on establishing a good relationship and some good leadership skills from the ground while the horse is filling out and getting healthy. It will also help you build a foundation if he is not quite as calm as you thought he was going to be when fit. He is nice, I think he looks worth the trouble if not neccessarily that amount of money.

    Agree with the others. For that price you can get yourself an exceptional horse in this economy. He's cute and with some groceries and exercise could be a nice horse, but honestly, I would be hard pressed to pay $500 for him.
