    My first critique!

Hello all! I haven't posted in a while (nursing school and working takes up most my time). I have been riding for about 3 or 4 months now. I am learning English but ride in a Western saddle most the time to build my confidence a little. Anyways, here's a video of me posting.

I am still a little scared to let go of the saddle horn at the trot. Don't mind my hand position.

    Thanks!

Well, I think you are off to a great start. I can see that there are some advantages to starting in a western saddle. Not only do you feel more secure, but your holding the horn teaches you to keep your hands in one location and allow your elbows to flex open and closes as you rise and come back down.

    Doing a great job!

You're looking very nice! You lower leg position is great.
I think you have to be careful with holding onto the horn, as you don't want to be pulling up with your arms. I think you look ready to let go. You could ask to go onto a lunge and have your arms out to the side of you to gain confidence :)
Learning your diagonals would be a good next step for you too. (Rise and fall with the leg on the wall), so when the outside front leg goes back, you sit.
Your posting is in a nice rhythm, you should be proud of your fast progress!

Thanks tiny! I am trying my best, so it's good to hear that my hard work is paying off.

Weez- he is the cutest horse isn't he? :)

Elaine- Thanks for the advice. I will go back on the lunge to work on letting go of the horn because you are right, I do pull on it sometimes. I thought I was posting on the right diagonal (whoops lol).
