Hello!
Very cute pony! And I love your green pad and polos!
On to the critique:
Trotting:
She looks like she carries herself very well, lots of expression through her legs, but she is very rushy. When a horse is balanced, they will have a nice 1-2-1-2-1-2 (etc) trot, almost to the point where you could set a metronome to it - without any rein contact. So I would work on her coming up underneath of herself and working through her back, and coming back to you. There is a thread going under Training - Trotting too Fast (or something to that effect) where I have suggested some exercises for this. Looks like you're doing a great job though!
Jumping:
Very cute jump! You two make quite the pair! The only thing I could really comment on is how much you seem to be working over the fence - you ride nice and quiet through your upper body up to the fence, then all of a sudden *snap* you're making huge movements forwards and upwards over the jump, almost like you're jumping the jump instead of your horse. Try and keep your upper body nice and consistant, with only slight movements over the jumps. However, I noticed it more on the 2nd jump, so it could have been compensation for getting a tad behind..?
Regardless of the critique, you both look awesome, and I'm sure you'll go far :) |
