I agree with most of what is said above. Be careful doing stirrupless work. If not done correctly (WRAP those legs) it can actually aggravate grabbing with the knees.
I like how you handled the refusal. It would have been a shame to punish her for a rider distance mistake. You took responsibility which was Fabulous and well done. You allowed her to settle, relax, and calmly did it again....and better! Well done.
As for the changes, you need a half half before the change to engage the haunch more before you ask. In my opinion, though, you should avoid needing changes by giving your horse a clearer idea of where you will be going while making the jump so that the horse lands in the correct lead. The only time I like changes is when you have to make a double turn, making one necessary.
