Old video critique

I just found an old video that I would like to get some feedback for. I took a long break from riding my horse and now just started to really ride him again. This video is from last year. He was much more green back then. Now with a warmup he tends to drop his head down and relaxes much more. I have very bad balance and I will be working on fixing that(I tend to balance on the reins).

You Seem to be leaning backwards, pushing your feet forward which will make your horse hollow out (like in the video)
Square your shoulders up ( try lifting shoulders up, back and down)
Remember ear, hip and heel in line.
=)
Also I think it would be an idea to take up a little more contact.

Having a few lessons with a qualified instructor would be an idea too.

I have very bad balance and I will be working on fixing that(I tend to balance on the reins). <-- At Least You Know That & Want To Fix It Unlike Horse Riders I Know.

Keep Practising & Riding!

Hope That Helps You!

Thanks Liz. I have fixed my leaning back issue. I do not know why I was doing it in the video(usually I lean slightly forward). My horse is very lazy and I feel like I am constantly doing the riding for him and always pushing him, steering him, and it's making my equitation worse. The lazy ones tend to be much harder for me to ride.

Then teach him not to be lazy. ;)
