OMG! Possible Buy!!!!

Hey everyone, sorry about the pictures, it's all she had. She is 4 years old, will be 5 in June, 15.3hh, and black but currently faded out. I talked to this lady for over an hour on the phone, and I have a REALLY good feeling about this mare. I am going to see her tomorrow morning. I posted an ad on craigslist looking for a young horse for no more than $1,000. This lady email me and said that she has 5 horses and doesn't ride anymore an doesn't want this mare to go to waste. She has had 30 days of professional training.

She is barefoot and has great feet. "My farrier said he loves her feet - they are fantastic!" She has never been lame or had any health issues what so ever. Healthy as a horse. (Haha!) She has some recognizable names in her bloodlines, including Impressive, Ima Cool Skip, and Sonny Dee Bar. She has been DNA tested and is HYPP N/N with the paperwork to prove it. She was shown in Halter and did very well. Hey registered name is "Kid Luvs To Dance". Her barn name is "Lola".

The lady told me, come out and try her. If you like her, I will take what you can afford. Money isn't important, but her going to a great home with a great partner is.

Not great pictures, but I like her. The seller seems real enough, not like she's trying to get rid of unrideable horses for cheap. Go out and try her, and if you like her, take some conformation shots for us. Also have a PPE done by YOUR vet if you can. :]

She's a pretty girl though, love the color.

She looks beautiful from the knees up but something is off about her pasterns. I don't know if it's just the way they have her standing but in the one from the front, they look really straight/upright. Make sure you get her vetted :)

I said the exact same thing about her pasterns but she said it was just the angle of the picture. I will see tomorrow....

As bad as I hate to say it because she is a very pretty mare. PASS!!! Her pasterns are very upright. Her front ones are straight up and down and her back ones have very little angle to them. I don't see her staying sound under saddle. I don't believe that it is just the angle of the picture. She appears to have a pretty nice body but her legs are just hideous. They are very posty and just wrong. If she is close, go ahead and look at her cause it could be a trick of the picture and I could be wrong but I don't think so. :(

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog:

I agree with previous posters. Pasterns look really long. She's lovely looking besides that though, but... Could it be just REALLY bad pics?

Like everyone had said something about her legs look off, but those are about as bad quality pictures you can get; a black mare at night AND horrible angles lol. Deffinetly go try her, because she seems nice for such a low price.

Post legged in the rear. Probably 'jack hammerish' to ride.

And she is not black. I have a 'black' that has the smokey gene but AQHA does not have a "smokey black". I also have a black that is truly black and does not fade with the exception of his saddle area if I do not rinse the salt out of him after working him.

I'd say the mare is bay.

(sorry - color is a pet peeve with me)

I think the colors on my computer must be super dark - I can't even see the bottom of the pictures where her pasterns would be. It's just black.

I'd still say go see her and double check on the post-leggedness. If her pasterns look upright, PASS.

She's otherwise a pretty girl.

Eek, definitely pass. It might be the angle, but her pasterns are the most upright I've ever seen and their long. I will say the "She was shown in Halter and did very well" scares me a bit... Her pedigree screams halter and I can't imagine she would be the best riding horse out there for her price. I mean I see Kid Clu is her grandsire ( who is Kid's Classic Style's sire (
