Default Opinions on a Possible Lease?

Hey everybody,
I was just recently contacted about this horse, who is available for a free (off-farm) lease. Here's her ad. There's also a

In the picture on her ad she looks a little over in her knees, but for a lease, how much does that really matter?

Thanks!

Looks good, but I can't say much from video alone.
Still, find out all you can on the history (medical, other people who have time with/on her, if possible for any extra info) ride her more than once, with your own tack, then if you are convinced, go do it!

Been down the lease trail, quite a few times....Best of Luck -Lw

idk.....she looks sort of gangly to me? I think I'm just used to my long backed TB, so her build is throwing me off. And is it just me or in that ad pic is her butt up in the air? she's only five, so she could get bigger! not that it matters much for a lease, but depending on how tall you are I wouldn't want a mount above 16 hands.

I do like her canter though.

The only thing that I notice is that she seems to have some real issues with the bit. Hence the head slinging, chomping, and carrying her head crooked in the video. I don't know, something about the way she travels just looks off to me. Almost like she is lame or in pain in one of her legs or her back.

She looks really lovely to ride, with a nice jump. Her trot looks a little stiff to me though...I don't know what you others think.

Then the issue with her mouth may be due to the person riding her. The person seems to not really release with her hands, and is abit hard with the hands. Maybe that is why the horse is shaking her head.

Definately try her out and she. It will be worth it. = )

I think she just looks kind of stiff all over. It may or not be related to the person riding her not doing much with her hands, which would explain to bit thing. (it looked to me like they just kind of hovered in the same spot for much of the video)

Go see her though if you really like her. Everybody has a different ride.

Yes. She looks off at the trot to me..
It's not super noticeable, but I could definitely see it.
I would just be super wary about why they are doing a free lease on her.. idk that's just me though haha

I guess I should elaborate a bit. They are offering a free lease on her because she has not been worked in a while.

I ride mainly dressage, but some eventing. Her training looks VERY hunter-y to me, which is not really my style, but I think she would make a nice dressage prospect as well. She IS very unsteady in the bit, but in my opinion it is because they are trying to get her head down with their hands instead of asking her to use raise her back and use herself. At the beginning of the video you can see that the mare's head is wiggling back and forth - I'm thinking the rider is seesawing?

I think I will go and see her, because she is the only decent-looking lease opportunity I have found.
